And singer-songwriter Coaching
As a nonbinary, femme creative of colour, I understand the importance of self-care, genuine connection, collaboration, and guidance for self-actualization. When I started pursuing music and film professionally, I couldn't find (non-predatory) mentors. Maybe it's because I'm perceived as a woman. Maybe it's because I'm Chinese Canadian. Or both, since women of colour directors only make up 8% of competitors at the top 5 international film festivals (LA Times).
I didn't know about the grants that existed, which can finance the world-changing concepts that boiled over in my mind. Or ensuring safety measures for my business meetings with older cis men in the industry.
I utilize a collection of self-care and self-soothing strategies - healthy coping mechanisms - and I can guide you through processing and integrating any trauma you've endured into your art/work.
With my well-rounded experience and BA in psychology, I can personalize the next steps in your career and healing, for you.

As someone who grew up in an immigrant family, the financial barriers of pursuing acting professionally were daunting. This industry should be transparent, but isn't. I accessed my resources by deepening my relationships with other creatives, paying for coaching, classes and casting director workshops, attending screenings, volunteering at film festivals, and more. I can provide you with the knowledge and hard realities of a working actor at an accessible price. I will answer your questions about auditioning and callbacks, especially during this pandemic, and even craft a career strategy fit for your goals, timeline, and budget: who to shoot with for high-quality headshots, what "types" casting will see you for, which classes supply free audits, which agencies to contact, grant writing to produce your own content - I can personalize this info for you, because you're unique. I want to give you the tools you need to succeed at a fraction of the time it took for me. Now I'm more than just an actor - I write and produce my own films too, manifesting the funds necessary to back it up.

The work we do originates on ancestral land belonging to Coast Salish Nations, and I acknowledge my settler privilege as an immigrant on stolen land. I promise to prioritize your mental and physical wellbeing, and give you the respect you deserve at all times. I too have survived my darkest days, and now I see my light. Even though healing isn't a straightforward journey, we've survived our worst days, and we can do it all again. Creation and healing have always existed within us: our love for storytelling; our calling to perform; our desire for connection; expressions of joy, sorrow, and anger; leadership and business skills; the will to try again... It's within you.
I offer vocal training, songwriting mentorship, and performance coaching, including trauma-informed consultation to reduce (and even eliminate) the negative effects of anxiety and stage fright. I trained under choral director Jen Williams for 4 years, and studied developmental psychology, social psychology, and neuroscience (among other subfields) at UBC.
