And Coaching

As a nonbinary woman-coded creative of colour, I understand the importance of self-care, genuine connection, collaboration, and guidance, for self-actualization. When I started pursuing art professionally, I couldn't find non-predatory mentors for my music career, and nobody in the film/TV industry wanted to expand on my ambitions to write, direct, and produce inclusive, pivotal content. Maybe it's because I'm perceived as a woman. Maybe it's because I'm Chinese Canadian. Or both, since women of colour directors only make up 8% of competitors at the top 5 international film festivals (LA Times).

And I didn't know about the grants that existed, which can finance the world-changing concepts that boiled over in my mind. Or putting in safety measures for my business meetings with older men in the industry. (If you want to hear more about my early experiences, listen to Community? on SoundCloud/Bandcamp.) I utilize a collection of self-care and self-soothing strategies (healthy coping mechanisms), and I can guide you through processing and harnessing the trauma you've endured.

With my well-rounded experience and BA in psychology, I can personalize the next steps in your career and healing, for you.

Our Sessions are

strictly Confidential

The work we do originates on ancestral land belonging to xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ Nations, and I acknowledge my privilege as an immigrant settler on stolen land. As a comrade in the liberation of (queer, trans) Black, Indigenous, and/or people of colour, I promise to prioritize your mental and physical wellbeing, and give you the respect you deserve at all times. I too have survived my darkest days, and now I see my light. Even though healing isn't a straight upwards journey, we've survived our worst days, and we can do it all again. Creation and healing have always existed within us: our love for storytelling; our calling to perform; our desire for connection; expressions of joy, sorrow, and anger; leadership and business skills; the will to try again... It's within you.

As someone who grew up in an immigrant family, the financial barriers of pursuing acting professionally were daunting. This industry should be transparent, but it isn't. I accessed my resources (by deepening my relationships with other creatives, paying for coaching, classes and casting director workshops, attending screenings and volunteering at film festivals, etc.) and continue to absorb all I can about the film industry. I want to provide you the knowledge I have now as a working actor at an accessible price (sliding scale rates available for Black, Indigenous, and people of colour). I want to answer your questions about auditioning and callbacks, especially during this pandemic, and personalize a career strategy fit for your goals - whether it's starting out in film/TV after commercial experience or pursuing voice acting. Where to get affordable high-quality headshots, what "types" casting will see you for, which classes supply free audits, which coaches and agencies to contact, grant writing, and more - I can personalize this info for you, because you're unique. I want to give you the tools you need to succeed as a working actor, at a fraction of the time it took for me. Now I'm more than just an actor - I write, direct and produce my own films too, and can obtain the funds necessary to back it up.
